Snowshoe trip to meet reindeer
Snowshoes let you get into parts of the forest a regular trail just doesn't reach — deep snow, quiet corners, trees bent low under the weight of it all. This hike takes you through Porovaara, on a private stretch of land where it's just you, the snow, and the forest.
Partway through, you'll meet our reindeer up close. Feed them some lichen and get a sense of how well they're built for this climate — it's genuinely impressive once you see it up close, not just something you read about.
Afterwards, we stop by the campfire for a warm drink and something to eat. Not much to it, really — sitting by a fire in the snow is one of those simple things Lapland does best.
Because the land is privately owned, there's no crowd to share the trail with — just quiet forest and reindeer, for as long as the hike lasts.
