Northern Lights Electric Snowmobile Safari & Reindeer Experience
Head out under the Arctic night sky on an electric snowmobile, into the forests of Porovaara — and with a bit of luck, the Northern Lights overhead. Because the snowmobiles are electric, there's no engine noise, just the sound of snow under the runners and the forest around you. It's less like driving, more like gliding through the dark.
Porovaara sits well away from Rovaniemi's light pollution, so on clear nights it's a genuinely good spot for aurora viewing — though as always with the Northern Lights, nothing can be guaranteed, it's nature's call.
Along the way we stop to take in the surroundings, and once you're back there's a fire waiting with hot berry juice and snacks. Your guide will share a few stories about Lapland, local life, and the old folklore around the aurora.
You'll also get to meet our reindeer in their natural habitat and hand-feed them — usually one of the highlights of the evening.
Just 20 minutes from Rovaniemi centre, it's a solid choice if you want a proper night out in the Arctic, away from the crowds, with a real shot at seeing the lights.
Please note: the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and visibility can't be guaranteed.
